On June 2 to 3, The American Cancer Society will be holding a Relay for Life event at the Peters Township School High School. Relay for Life is a nationwide, community oriented event that has raised over 3 billion dollars to date for the American Cancer Society's research, education, prevention, advocacy and patient services. Each Relay for Life event celebrates cancer survivors and raises awareness of this unfortunate disease.
The Relay for Life team at McMurray Elementary School will be helping to spread cancer awareness throughout the school year in preparation of the Relay for Life event in June.
Here is how you can help:
1) Once a month, send your child to school in the awareness color indicated below.
2) Encourage your child to bring change on the monthly awareness day. All proceeds will be collected by homeroom teachers and donated to the American Cancer Society on behalf of McMurray's Relay for Life team.
3) Encourage your child to walk with you at the Relay for Life event on June 2-3.
Cancer touches so many people in the community, and Relay for Life is a great way to help fight this terrible disease. Thank you for supporting the fight against cancer!
