63-Year-Old Canonsburg Woman Briefly Jailed for Alleged Retail Theft in Peters

A 63-year-old Canonsburg woman was briefly jailed after being charged by Peters Township Police for retail theft—a misdemeanor.
Online court records show Kathleen Joy was arraigned Wednesday before district Judge Ethan Ward, and remanded to the Washington County Jail after failing to initially post a $5,000 percentage bond.
She was released a few hours later, according to the jail list.
According to the Observer-Reporter, Joy allegedly stole $185 worth of merchandise from the Giant Eagle in Peters Township.
Online court records show that Joy is scheduled to appear before district Judge James Ellis at 1:45 p.m. Jan. 15.
