An Inside Look: New Funeral Business Now Open
Cremation & Funeral Care by Danielle Andy Belusko opened in Peters Township Tuesday.
Cremation & Funeral Care by Danielle Andy Belusko opened its doors in Peters Township on Tuesday.
Located on Route 19 (across from the Outpatient Care Center), the full-service funeral home is female-owned and female-run.
A truly one-of-a-kind place, owner Danielle Andy Belusko and funeral director Erin Leigh Hess said their focus is a hospitality service—not a sales business.
"My favorite word is passionate," Belusko said. "Neither Erin or I come from a long line of funeral directors. I chose this because I love it and I'm good at it."
Belusko said they believe women are naturally nurturing, and they take an almost maternal approach to funeral and cremation services.
"As a result, the families we serve always receive the most compassionate, considerate care."
The two said they are always focused on their customers' comfort. And, it speaks for itself when one walks through the front door.
"Our remarkable facility is unlike any other funeral home you've seen," she said. "When visitors first walk through our door, they are greeted by a stunning space that looks more like a luxury hotel lobby than the typical funeral home."
A focal point being the striking elegant water feature—not to mention its relaxing sound.
The funeral home proudly brews Starbucks coffee, and serves lemon water and fresh-baked cookies. A professional designer decorated the interior, which offers private family suites, a children's suite, a chapel, three viewing areas and a gorgeous lounge.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the entire facility—including two kiosks with touchscreen computers (the first of its kind in the area), which allow family and friends to share memories online—via online obituary, Facebook, Twitter, etc.—while at a service.
Belusko and her husband, Rod, live in Peters Township with their three children. She graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and Robert Morris University with a business degree.
She has worked in the funeral care industry for more than 20 years. She said she willingly chose this career path because she truly loves helping and caring for people at their most difficult time.
The new business has joined the Peters Township Chamber.
Hess is a licensed funeral director with nearly 16 years of experience in the industry. Belusko said Hess is a perfect fit to the funeral home's warm environment.
She graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and the University of Pittsburgh with an accounting and finance degree.
She had the opportunity to manage a cremation society, where she was dedicated to making losing a loved one "as dignified and as simple as possible" to the families she served. She's a first generation funeral director in her family as well.
Cremation & Funeral Care by Danielle Andy Belusko offers a wide variety of funeral, cremation (done off-site) and burial services. The business also provides lifestyle packages designed to fit a range of budgets.
A public grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony—in conjunction with the chamber—is planned for Friday, March 23 and Saturday, March 24. Stay tuned to Peters Patch for details.

"The sky is the limit," Belusko and Hess said. "If you can imagine it, we can make it happen."
