Community Invited to Help 'Plan Peters'
Come share your vision of Peters Township's future Wednesday!
If you care about the types of development allowed in Peters Township, have issues with transportation, or would like to see more economic development opportunities, a Wednesday night open house is your opportunity to learn and have your voice heard.
Peters Township residents are invited to the "Plan Peters 2022: Our Community, Our Future" open house from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 19 in the Peters Township High School cafeteria.
Township planning staff and a consultant team will be present to discuss the purpose and status of the comprehensive plan update, the research and analysis conducted so far, and any thoughts or ideas that residents may have.
The public is free to come and go as they please during the event. However, please note that the consultant team will conduct two formal presentations: one at 6 p.m. and the other at 7:30 p.m. The presentations are expected to last 20 minutes. Some of the information that will be covered includes:
Demographic Profiles: Population trends, age distributions and income levels
Housing Characteristics: Current housing types, mix, values and neighborhood character
Land Use Patterns: Percent of land use by category, development history and potential for new development
Economic Conditions: Employment figures and opportunities for new housing, retail and office space
Parks & Open Space: Opportunities for preservation and incorporation into future development
Comparables: What other communities are doing to remain resilient, desirable, and relevant
In addition to the presentations, various stations will be set up with information describing the existing conditions within the township.
