Council Approves New Public Works Union Contract

The 4-year agreement will bring 2.5 percent annual raises.

Peters Township Council Monday night unanimously approved a new 4-year collective bargaining agreement with the Public Works Union.

The union already approved the deal and was awaiting final approval by council.

The deal includes 2.5 percent annual raises for employees.

"It gives us the ability to hire part-time employees at a reduced rate.  It gives us more flexibility on healthcare to be able to change and also to prevent them from going to the union's plan," said township Manager Michael Silvestri.
