Expect 'Significant Delays' on McMurray Road

Full lane closures begin today.

Full lane closures are planned for McMurray Road on Oct. 25, Oct. 26 and Oct. 29-Nov. 2.

Peters Township officials say significant delays should be expected from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., especially during the morning and late afternoon rushes. They recommend avoiding E. McMurray Road if possible.

Suggested alternatives include Waterdam and Valleybrook Roads.

The work is part of an improvement project at the intersection of McMurray Road (Route 1002) and Center Church Road.

McMurray Road is being widened to provide right and left turning lanes at the intersection of South Center Church Road and a left turn lane at the intersection of North Center Church Road. In addition, a new traffic signal will also be added to the South Center Church Road intersection.

A contract for $871,916.99 was awarded to A. Liberoni, Inc. to perform the work.

Thank you so much for the info Peters Patch! I will be looking forward to the completion of this project.
I am making the assumption the delays will now be longer than the 10-20 minute delays we experience already? Thankfully there were only 5 minute delays this morning around 7:45 A.M.

Just corresponded with the township. They do not anticipate any longer delays than the ones currently being experienced. Rough estimates are in the 15-20 minute range with the possibility of up to 30 minutes in extreme traffic.
