Last June, Farmhouse Coffee introduced sandwiches to the lunch crowd, and now the coffeehouse is catering to breakfast lovers one step further.
In addition to a wide variety of specialty lattes, coffees and pastries, the hearty breakfast sandwich made its debut this weekend. Ham, cheddar cheese and two farm-fresh eggs fill a buttery croissant—each sandwich piping hot and made to order.
The new menu item sells for $4.99, and in my opinion, is large enough to split. The baristas conveniently package the sandwich in a container, perfect for those on-the-go.
And if you're a dinner-for-breakfast type of person, the staff will gladly make the sandwich for you any time of day.
A Farmhouse employee told Patch the eggs are from a local farm in Jefferson Hills—and can be purchased separately. In fact, customers have been purchasing the eggs by the dozen from the coffeehouse for years.
Currently, Farmhouse is operating on winter hours—Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed on Sunday.
