1. How to...Ukrainian Egg Dye
Where/When: Peters Township Community Recreation Center, Saturday, March 17, 9 a.m. to noon
What: Join neighbors in learning how to create rare and beautiful eggs. The deadline to sign up is today. Please bring two to three eggs at room temperature (not empty).
Cost: $5 resident, $8 non-resident plus $15 material fee paid to instructor on day of class
2. Simmons Farm Easter Egg Hunt
Where/When: Simmons Farm, Friday, March 30 through April 1 and April 6-7, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
What: Kids can decorate their own gourd birdhouse; decorate an Easter egg gathering bag; collect 12 eggs that are exchanged for prizes; decorate a flower pot, then plant the flower; and do a coloring craft. If the weather is nice, the egg hunt will be held in the orchard. If not, the egg hunt will be held in the greenhouse. Email email@example.com or call 724-941-1490 for more information.
3. Bunny Hop at the Community Recreation Center
Where/When: PT Community Recreation Center, Saturday, March 31, 10 a.m. to noon
What: Kids can enjoy games, crafts and a visit from the Easter Bunny. The CRC invites you to come for a "hopping fun time!" Pre-registration is required. Call 724-942-5000 for more information.
Cost: $5 resident, $7 non-resident (ages 2 and up)
4. Breakfast with the Easter Bunny
Where/When: Trax Farms, Saturday, March 31, Sunday, April 1 and April 6 and 7, 9:30 a.m.
What: Each child will receive a filling breakfast of cereal with milk, mini donuts, an orange drink and a fresh apple. The kids will then get to visit with the Easter Bunny, do a fun craft and enter in a coloring contest. For the parents: fresh coffee, muffins, bagels and more will be available.
Cost: $8 per reservation (reservations required)
5. Egg Hunts at Trax
Where/When: Trax Farms, Saturday, March 31, Sunday, April 1 and April 6 and 7, 10:30 a.m. to 2p.m.
What: The Easter egg hunts will begin promptly following Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. The hunts will start every 30 minutes, and are divided into three age groups and patches.
