Get Out: Baseball, Star Party and Farm Heritage Day
Here are five events happening in and around Peters Township this holiday weekend.
1. Memorial Day Sale
Where/When: Trax Farms Market, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: Trax Farms is holding a huge Memorial Day sale this weekend! Come browse and shop for great deals.
2. Early Intervention Families' Night at CONSOL Energy Park
Where?/When?: CONSOL Energy Park, 6:30 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: The Washington Wild Things present Early Intervention Families' Night. Experience the Field of Dreams. Take the field with Wild Things players and stand next to them for the playing of the National Anthem. Field of Dreams participants need to be lined up at the party deck at 6:30 p.m.
Pricing: $5 for general admission; $9 for reserve level
3. Star Party
Where/When: Mingo Creek County Park, dusk on Friday
Why Go?: View the Moon, planets and Outer Space at the Mingo Creek Observatory. Bring your friends and family to discover the wonders of the heavens in Mingo Creek Park. Events will begin at dusk and viewing will take place as long as there is a partly clear sky.
4. Don’t Kill the Messenger
Where?/When?: St. Peter & St. Paul Hall in Carnegie, 8 p.m. on Saturday through Sunday
Why Go?: Stage & Steel Productions present a show about a prince who delivers a mysterious request from his father to a neighboring kingdom. To keep peace, the King must face his most challenging choice. Their show features a live tournament, merriment and plenty of live sword play!
Pricing: $12 general admission; $10 student/senior; $5 for kids under 12
5. Farm Heritage Day
Where?/When?: The Spring House, 11 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Farm Heritage Day at The Spring House is a fun-filled family event. Spend the afternoon remembering how things used to be. You will step back into the past with primitive demonstration crafters, antique tractors and farm equipment, good old-fashioned, down-on-the-farm food and lots more! You can tour the farm and the dairy farm. Lots of great eats at The Spring House!
