Last-Minute Recipe: Blue Cheese Ball

A recipe to please plenty of palates during the holidays.

Earlier this week, my mom was asked for the innards of this Blue Cheese Ball recipe she made last year for a holiday party. She recovered a recipe that includes simply five palate-pleasing ingredients.

Ingredients

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened

1 cup crumbled blue cheese

3/4 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 cup sliced almonds

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, stir together the cream cheese, blue cheese, Cheddar cheese and Worcestershire sauce. Transfer to a separate bowl that has been lined with plastic wrap. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  2. The next day, gather the cream cheese mixture into a ball. Shape the ball into a pinecone and place sliced almonds accordingly. Refrigerate or serve immediately with crackers, particularly a kind with little seasoning.

Editor's Note: Listening to the Elvis original, "Blue Christmas," while in the kitchen, is encouraged.
