MedExpress Opens Doors, Welcomes Public

Stop in for a free flu shot now through Feb. 1.

Spa green walls and great lighting fill Peters Township’s newest medical center. The 4,500 square-foot facility opened to the public Thursday. The day prior, a grand-opening celebration was held.

Hors d’oeuvres were served and walk-through tours were provided.

It was an exciting day for MedExpress; the company was “having twins”—the Bluefield, VA and McMurray locations were opening simultaneously as the 76th and 77th locations.

“We’re excited. This location is great; we have centers on both sides in Washington and Upper St. Clair,” said area manager Dave Neely.

The center has 12 rooms, including an X-Ray suite, a room solely for splinting and a room for an extended stay—i.e. a few hours—equipped for administering intravenous fluids.

Peters Township Chamber directors Carol Foley and Anna Pikelis assisted in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“The location is so accessible for those needing urgent care,” said Foley. “The opening of this facility adds to the various medical options our residents have.”

Dina Berardino frequented the Upper St. Clair location and said she loved MedExpress so much she decided to join the front office staff at Peters Township.

“I’m thrilled; everyone is so great,” she said. “(The company) is so well talked about and my family and I had a great, past experience.”

The center prides itself on always having a physician on site.

Now through Feb. 1, the new location is distributing free flu shots.

MedExpress is located at 3840 Washington Road—at the corner of Route 19 and West McMurray Road—and operates daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
