That seems to be a good number.
New hire Vince Belczyk comes to Peters with 19 years of experience. He’s served several different school districts—the latest being Uniontown Area School District since 2010.
Belczyk has a bachelor's degree in accounting from California University of Pennsylvania. As business manager he will support areas such as, fiscal management, payroll, maintenance management, food service, transportation, fiscal correspondence, and state and federal reporting requirements.
“Peters Township offers a good opportunity to test my skills,” he said. “It’s a high performing district as well as an expanding district and, for me, it’s something I’ve been looking forward to.”
For several weeks, Belczyk has been phasing in as Solomon's replacement.
“We’ve been making the transition a smooth one,” Belczyk said.
The Belle Vernon native is a current member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials.
“In this position, there is always something new—fiscal changes, reporting changes, and legal changes, all effecting the education and safety of students,” he said. “There’s never a dull moment. It’s always interesting and challenging.”
He has experience working as an auditor as well as in construction financial management.
“In this position you are involved in multiple areas of management with experience in construction and capital improvement projects,” Belczyk said. “I can utilize my previous experience to help the district.”
In his spare time, he enjoys hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family. Belczyk has three children and said, when they were younger, he enjoyed being very active in their recreational sport programs.
