Keystone Exams are coming up for some Peters Township students.
The testing days run from Jan. 9 to 11 with some students taking one test per day depending on their grade level.
Juniors will be taking three tests during those days from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Most sophomores and freshmen will be taking the Algebra 1 and Biology Keystone Exams on Wednesday and Thursday from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. If they need to take one or both of the exams, they will be listed on their Powerschool Schedule. The school district is asking parents to “double check” their powerschool account to see which exams they are scheduled to take.
The Algebra 1 exam will be given on Jan. 9 and the Biology exam will be given on Jan. 10. There will be delayed starts at 10:30 a.m. for students not taking those exams. Jan. 11 will be a normal day of school with for all students with a start time at 7:30 a.m.
Middle school students taking these tests should follow the same schedule as the freshmen and sophomores.
Should they not receive a proficient or advanced score, they will receive remediation and take the exam again in the next available testing window. More information on the Keystone Exams can be found at http://www.ptsd.k12.pa.us/KeystoneExamResources.aspx
Seniors will have a delayed start to school on Jan. 9 and 10. Those students do not have to arrive to school until 10:20 and will have to find their own transportation. If they cannot find their own transportation, they are permitted to ride their normal bus, but will be placed in study hall until 10:30 a.m. School on Jan. 11 will start at 7:30 a.m. for seniors.
