Readers' Choice: Where's Your Favorite Place to Grab Breakfast?

Whether it's their coffee, pancakes or pastries that keeps you coming back, where's your favorite place in Peters Township to enjoy a bite in the morning?

Where are you grabbing breakfast this morning? If you want a good cup of coffee and morning bite, where do you go?

Are you a pancakes-and-sausage person, or do you prefer a fluffy three-egg omelette for your morning meal? More importantly, we want to know which breakfast is tops in the Peters Township area.

Do you prefer a sit-down restaurant where you can get your favorite hot breakfast items? Or do you like grab-and-go breakfasts to take with you on the road?

As this week's Readers' Choice we ask: Where's your favorite place to grab breakfast? There are a bunch of places in PT that could easily be favorites.

We picked a few to get you started—but if your favorite isn't listed, just nominate it in the comments section below and we'll add it to our poll.

"... to grab breakfast ..." is a good marker of the perception of most regarding breakfast. Dieticians tell us repeatedly that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. "Grabbing breakfast" implies it is something taken lightly, and must be done quickly. This attitude is what leads to bad dietary habits. It should be no secret why we have health issues in our citizens. What is the number now? 32% (or 36%) are considered obese.

What happened to the kitchen table in one's home for the best place for breakfast? What happened to the calm to start the day with a good meal, preferably with other family members? Have we become so intent with "quick" that we must relegate breakfast to a "grab" category?

I offer no apologies for the probing questions. While we fuss about health care costs, who will pay, what will be covered, etc., we take our dietary habits far too lightly.

Oh yes, for me, it is homemade granola and fruit at the kitchen table at home. Forget the fat-laden sausage, the cholesterol-laden eggs, and sugar-rich syrup over the pancakes.

I was reading over your comment with interest until you mentioned "fat-laden sausage" in the final sentence. Then my mouth started to water.

Bartram House's french toast is the best I've had locally - it's amazing. And the atmosphere is wonderful. My new favorite spot to eat breakfast.

Thanks for sharing, Todd. I can't wait to try their French toast now! (Everything else I've had at Bartram has been amazing.)

The pancakes at The Beach House, which is on the border of PT and Finleyville... the chocolate chip ones are the best :)
