UPDATED: Power Restored, Firefighters Respond to 13 Calls

This morning's storm is to blame.

UPDATE 9:15 P.M.: Less than five customers are without power.

UPDATE 5:40 P.M.: One dozen customers remain without power. It's expected to be restored by 9 p.m.

UPDATE 5:30 P.M.: Peters Township firefighters said they responded to 13 calls just today due to the weather.

UPDATE 4 P.M.: Less than 1,000 customers are without power. The majority of customers are expected to have their power return by 5 p.m.

UPDATE 12:30 P.M.: The district has cancelled afternoon kindergarten for Pleasant Valley Elementary only. Afternoon kindergarten at Bower Hill will go on as scheduled.

A West Penn Power representative says it is too early to tell when power will be restored for more than 1,300 customers in Peters Township.

A tree fell on power lines during Wednesday morning's storm—causing most of the power outages.

Peters Township High School and Pleasant Valley Elementary are both affected by the outage. As a precaution, students in both buildings will not move their current location/room during the outage, according to the district spokesperson.
