'Character Counts' Logo Contest Deadline Looming

Did we mention that you could win a cash prize?

Peters Township Character Counts is looking for your artwork.

The PTCC is sponsoring a logo contest marking the 15th year of the "Character Counts" initiative for the purpose of engaging a new generation of students and community members in promoting the vision.

The original logo was designed in 1999.

Any community member in the from kindergarten through grade 12 is welcome to submit a design—and those submitted artwork can do so on their own or with a group of friends.

But be aware: The deadline is looming. Designs must be submitted by Monday.

Interested in getting in on the contest action? Here's what you need to know about the rules and regulations:

  • The design can be digitally produced or handmade.
  • Designs may be submitted electronically or an 8-1/2 inch by 11 inch hard copy may also be submitted to your school's main office.
  • Please make sure to include your name and contact information.
  • Only one submission per person will be considered.
  • Entries should include no more than two colors, for ease in reproducing in multiple mediums.
  • Those interested in participating in the contest may submit their logos to ptcharactercounts@gmail.com. Handmade design should be scanned to as PDF and submitted it via email. Questions may also be email to this address.

A group of community volunteers will score the entries. The entry with the highest score will be named winner and serve as the model for the new Peters Township Character Counts logo. Organizers not that the design may be modified to upgrade the quality, clarity or overall appearance.

The creator of the winning logo will receive a $100 cash prize and the names of all those who submitted an entry will be eligible for raffle prizes.

"Parents and families are encouraged to use this opportunity to talk with their kids about what good character looks like to them," organizers said.
