Get Out: Charity Hockey Game, Flea Market and CoolFish Concert

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are 10 events to consider.

1. 
Where/When:, 8:45-10 a.m. on Friday
Why Go?:  is offering free blood pressure screenings at the Peters Township Community Recreation Center.
Pricing: Free

Where/When: , 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: Movie theater prices are getting out of control so stop in the library on Friday to watch a free movie! The library supplies the popcorn and the movie will be displayed on the overhead projector and big screen.

3.
Where?/When?: South Park, 6 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: The PIHL Charity Hockey Games will be held at the South Park Ice Skating Rink. The rink will be closed from Jan. 4 to 6 to public skating. The 6 p.m. game will feature Westmont Hilltop vs. and the proceeds from the game will benefit the Hillman Cancer CenterMt. Lebanon will play against Pittsburgh Central at 8 p.m. in a game benefiting the Paul Sciullo II Scholarship.
Pricing: $5 per person

Why Go?: David’s Music House welcomes the band, CoolFish for a weekend concert. Stop in and enjoy some music on Friday night!

Where?/When?: , 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday
Why Go?: Need something for the family to do during winter? There is no better place to turn than Trax Farms’ Indoor Flea Market. You are guaranteed to find something unique from the 83 vendors selling antiques, gifts, collectibles, clothing, apparel, hobbies, food and much more in our events room. Whether you're just browsing or ready to buy, there is something for everyone!

Why Go?: The annual Epiphany Party to honor the many adult volunteers is scheduled Jan. 7, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Call the office at 724-941-9406 to RSVP. Everyone who does anything around the parish is invited. The party begins following the 5 p.m. Mass and will once again feature catering from Gretchen’s Good Eats.

Why Go?: Do you have ideas about how to improve the Young Adult Department? Are there programs you'd like to see offered or titles you'd like to see added to our collection? Join us in the Teen Room and we'll discuss your ideas and how to make them happen. All teens interested in participating in the council are welcome to join.

Where/When: , 1 p.m. on Sunday
Why Go?: The Joyful Noise Worship is designed for families with members on the autism spectrum, but is also ideal for young children who may appreciate being able to move around during worship. Join the church for a service in which movement and noise are an expectation. Rhythm instruments accompany most songs and the circle time children's sermon is interactive.

Why Go?: St. Benedict the Abbot's Epiphany Concert will feature all members of the St. Benedict the Abbot Music Ministry.

Where?/When?: , 12 to 1 p.m. on Sunday
Why Go?: The Little Dribblers program was designed to help boys and girls learn and enjoy the game of basketball. The program kicks of this Sunday and continues on Jan. 15 and Jan. 22. Current varsity boys and girls players will assist in the routine and make it as enjoyable and fun as possible. It is organized and run by Christopher Lebakken, girls varsity head coach at Peters Township High School. This program is for children in grades 1 to 5. The little dribblers will perform on Jan. 26 at halftime of the girls varsity basketball game against Bethel Park. Click here for a registration form.
Pricing: $50 per dribbler ($30 for each additional sibling) (Includes fundamental instruction, t-shirts, insurance, payment to coaches)
