Get Out: Holiday Concert, Annual Coffeehouse and Breakfast with Santa

Thursday through Sunday is all about the holidays—check out what's going on in and around Peters Township. Add additional events in the comments.

1.
Where/When: , 6 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: Join the Peters Creek Presbyterian Church for an evening of good food and fellowship in Hinman Hall. Dinner will be followed by singing Christmas Carols and enjoying performances in the Sanctuary. The staff will provide ham, rolls and beverages and asks that guests sign up using the red form in the front pocket of the pew folders indicating how many family members will attend and the food item you will bring. To help ensure a balanced table, the church suggests families with last names beginning with A through H bring a side dish, I through P bring a salad and Q through Z bring a dessert.
Pricing: A covered dish!

2.
Where?/When?: , 8 to 10 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: Vanessa will be performing Christmas songs from her newly released album, "Believe," as well as some of her original songs. Bring in the whole family to experience this wonderful Christmas concert. All ages are welcome.
Pricing: Donations of $10-20 at the door.

Where?/When?: , 8:30 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: Joe Materkowski will perform at Table Brick Oven & Bar in Peters. Stop in after work or holiday shopping and enjoy great food and music.

Where?/When?: , 7 p.m. on Thursday, 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday
Why Go?: Come enjoy bottemless cups of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and delicious pastries at the annual PTHS Thespian Coffeehouse on Dec. 15, 16 and 17. Sit back and relax while talented high school students present a variety show that will dazzle you!
Pricing: $5, tickets are sold at the door.

Where?/When?: The SpringHouse, 8 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: SpringHouse welcomes you and your family to a hearty farm breakfast with Santa Claus. Menu includes a ham fondue casserole, scrambled eggs, french toast, homemade applesauce and much more! The cost covers breakfast, crafts and a gift for children. Call 724-228-3339 to make reservations.
Pricing: $12 per person, for adults and children.

Where?/When?: Pennsylvania Trolley Museum, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday
Why Go?: This weekend is your last chance to take a trolley ride with Santa at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum. Complimentary hot chocolate will be served to all guests.
Pricing: $9 for adults and $6 for children, ages 3 to 15. Children under 3 are free.

Where?/When?: Lowe's, 10 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: It's the final piece of the 2011 Lowe's holiday train! This Train Engine includes stickers and a pullback motor!
Pricing: Free.

Where?/When?: , 7:30 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Join the Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra musicians and their conductor Warren Davidson as they celebrate this holiday season at the Upper St. Clair Theater.  Along with holiday favorites such as Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride and A Christmas Festival, the PCO will be joined by guest singer-songwriter Frank Capelli and soprano Colleen Gray for The Twelve Days of Christmas, the traditional Carol Sing-Along, and timeless arias. Other highlights include Rimsky-Korsakov’s Snow Maiden Suite and Mussorgsky’s Festive March. Make plans to bring the whole family to this annual Holiday Event! The young and young-at-heart won’t want to miss this musical celebration, and a certain someone is sure to drop by for some extra-special Holiday Cheer! Tickets may be purchased at the door. The theater is handicap accessible.
Pricing: Prices range from $15 for adults; $10 for seniors; $5 for students 13 and older; and children 12 and under are free. Group rates are available.

Where?/When?: , 9:30 a.m. or 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday
Why Go?: Bring your family to Trax Farms to enjoy a breakfast or lunch with Santa. Breakfast is served at 9:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Ticket price includes making a gingerbread house, a coloring contest, meeting with Santa and more! The cafe will be open for parents to purchase food and beverages. The breakfast menu includes cereal, mini donuts, apple, milk and orange juice. The lunch menu includes a hot dog, chips, apple and Capri Sun. Call ahead and reserve with your credit card. Reservation deadlines are on Thursday.
Pricing: $8.

10.
Where?/When?: , 12:30 to 4 p.m. on Sunday
Why Go?: As a service to all the parents of the parish, the teens will be offering free babysitting in Pope Benedict Activity Center. Children must be diaper trained or in pullups. They will provide snacks, games, crafts and movies. Please sign up your children ahead of time by calling Janet at 724-941-9587.
