Get Out: Kids' Camp, ULTRAparty and Alumni Lacrosse Clinic

There is a lot happening this weekend, including events at Peters Township Public Library, Farmhouse Coffee, the high school, and a street party in Mt. Lebanon.

1.
Where?/When?: , Thursday, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Why Go?: Trax Farms is offering fun, educational kids' camp. Today’s camp is called "Earth Friendly Kids." Kids will learn about soil, what it is made of, pot a flower to take home and get a worm to compete in the worm races.
Pricing: $7 per child, per session

Where/When: , Friday, 6:30 p.m.
Why Go: The Peters Township Public Library will host a celebration of locally grown foods at the 2nd Annual Local Foods Potluck Dinner. The event is being hosted by the library’s GO Green Club and Cooking Club. Guests are asked to bring a potluck dish made with locally grown and produced foods, or some samples of the bounty from their home gardens, to share with the other guests. Read more about the event .

Where?/When?: The Home Depot in Bethel Park, Saturday, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Why Go?: Children ages 5 through 12 will make a pencil box at Home Depot's FREE how-to workshop.

Where?/When?: Shop 'n Save in Bridgeville, Saturday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Why Go?: The South Fayette Shop 'n Save will be hosting a Pirates Rally Day for the local community. The event will be held in the lot next to the store and is a rally to support the Pirates. The event will feature a fast pitch cage where kids can have their pitches clocked with a radar gun and a cage where kids can hit balls. Shop 'n Save will be providing ball park food to all in attendance. There will also be games and prizes including Pirates tickets and memorabilia. Kids are invited to wear their uniforms and bring along their entire team.

Where?/When?: , Saturday, 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
Why Go?: Know the game rules, bring your deck of cards to the library and enter the Yu-Gi-Oh tournament. Check-in is at 11:30 a.m. Game play will begin at 12 p.m. Call to register!
Pricing: $2 entrance fee

Where?/When?: , Saturday, 1-3 p.m.
Why Go?: Join Peters Township Lacrosse Head Varsity Coach Mike McBride and a cast of college players, past and present, for a special two-hour clinic prior to the alumni lacrosse game. The clinic is for players in grades 6-8. Cost of the clinic includes an official PT Alumni Camp T-shirt, lessons on skills, lacrosse drills and a scrimmage. All proceeds benefit Peters Township Lacrosse.

Where?/When?: Washington Road Business District in Mt. Lebanon, Saturday, 6-11:30 p.m.
Why Go?: The Historical Society of Mount Lebanon, with support from the Mt. Lebanon Partnership, presents the 5th Annual Street Party: ULTRAparty 2011. This year’s ULTRAparty will benefit the Historical Society, the Mt. Lebanon Partnership and community autism initiatives. The block party features great sponsors, live entertainment and a family pre-party.
Pricing: Admission is a $5 donation

Where/When:109 Belin Dr, McMurray, Saturday, 6:30 p.m.
Why Go?: Rockin' Rowles is a benefit event for Officer James Kuzak. John Vento, the lead singer for The Nieds Hotel Band, & Friends will be this year's entertainment! He is bringing a four-piece band that will play percussion and acoustic music ranging from the 50s to today, along with his original tunes. The entertainment will be from 8 p.m. to approximately 11 p.m. Beer will be included. If you'd like to bring wine or alcohol, please do. Along with entertainment there will be a 50/50 raffle.
Pricing: $25 in advance, $30 at the door

Where/When:  , Saturday, 9:30 a.m.
Why Go?: The Women of Calvary Full Gospel Church will hold a Women's Walk & Talk at Farmhouse Coffee. The walk will take place on Montour Trail. The walkers will meet at 9:30 a.m on the front porch of the coffee shop. The talk will begin at 10:30 a.m. for those who would like to hang out.

Where?/When?: , Sunday, 12-6:30 p.m.
Why Go?: This dinner is to benefit Olivia Myers who was born with a rare brain malformation called pachygyria. This causes her to have low muscle tone, developmental delays, cortical vision impairment and uncontrollable seizures. Olivia needs to be taught the things that typical children do naturally, such as playing with toys, crawling, standing or walking independently. The cost of the needed therapy is more than the family can afford. Activities of the event include a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle, lottery tree and more. Dinner is provided by the Spaghetti Warehouse.
Pricing: $10/adults, $6/children
