Get Out: Spring Market, Fun Run & Art Exhibit

Here are five events in Peters Township to check out Saturday and Sunday.

1.

Where/When: Mineral Beach, ½ mile from , 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday

Why Go?: Stop by the Spring Market at Mineral Beach to shop or sell! Vendors can set up for $25 and a raffle prize donation. Participants will receive the equivalent of two parking spaces. Set up can include one car, tables, a tent, etc. For more information, or to reserve a space, call 724-503-8523 or email mitchbruce@gmail.com. All proceeds from this event will benefit Washington County residents for low-cost cat neuter and spay.

Why Go: Join the library for the Giant Oaks Garden Club's annual . This event is one of many fundraisers the club conducts to raise money to support many local projects and community organizations, including the library. All of the plants offered for sale are grown by club members. For more information, see the link above.

Where/When: , 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday

Why Go?: The 5K Walk/Run and Kids Fun Run will benefit the Watchful Shepherd USA to help prevent child abuse. The 5K begins at 9 a.m. in the church parking lot and the Kids Run starts at 10 a.m. Kids will not want to miss an opportunity to meet the Smiley!

Online registration closed Thursday. You can register day-of from 7:45-8:45 a.m., or tonight from 5-7 p.m. at St. Ben's. Call 724-941-3339 for more information.

Pricing: $25 day of; $5 for kids.

Where/When: , 10 a.m. on Saturday

Why Go?: This is part two of the Achieving Peak Performance seminar series presented by Tom Crea, motivational speaker and developmental coach. It is open to students (middle school and older) and adults seeking to get the most out of life. Parents and children are encouraged to attend together.

5. McMurray Art League's Spring Exhibit

Where/When: The Galleria of Mt. Lebanon (near Panera Bread)

Why Go? The McMurray Art League's Spring Exhibit, "Printemps," is on display through Sunday, May 20. For more information, visit mcmurrayartleague.org
