Get Out: Strawberry Festival, Summer Concert and Relay For Life

Events are being held at Peters Creek Presbyterian Church, U Rock Music Center, South Park Amphitheater, Peters Township High School and Trax Farms.

1.
Where/When: , 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: Peters Creek invites the community to its annual Strawberry Festival this Friday. The festival includes a basket raffle, musical entertainment and games for the kids. The menu includes fried chicken, roast beef, macaroni salad, baked beans and strawberry shortcake. 

Pricing: Adults—$10; Seniors—$8; Children—$5; Dessert Only—$4. Contact the church office at 724-941-6210 to reserve your ticket.

2.
Where?/When?: , 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: The Local Music Showcase will be held at U Rock Music Center's new location at Donaldson's Crossroads next to Citizens Bank. The event will feature live music from some area talent, plus an opening performance by some of the U Rock teaching staff. Also, an open mic forum for anyone interested in playing. Free refreshments (while they last).

Where/When: Brownsville and McCorkle roads, South Park, 7:30 p.m. on Friday
Why Go: The concert series kicks off the first weekend in June with pop/rock singer-songwriter (and Bethel Park product) Steve Moakler.

Where?/When?: , 12 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Peters Township will be held this weekend at the Peters Township High School stadium. Opening ceremony will start at noon on Saturday. Other events include a Survivor’s and Caregiver’s ceremony, Luminaria ceremony, family style games, Mass and more. .
Pricing: Donations accepted.

5. 
Where/When: , 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go: The Summer Celebration Lecture Series and Sale features 20 percent off all plants, trees and fish. The seminars include “New Introduction” from 10 to 11 a.m. and “Water Gardening” from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
