Get Out: FUNky Friday, Fish Fry, Lax Bingo Night

Here are five things in Peters Township to check out this weekend. Post additional event ideas in the comments.

1. FUNky Friday
Where?/When?: South Hills Bible Chapel, 6:30 to 10 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: It’s a girl’s night out! Join the Bible Chapel FUNky Friday. Enjoy a night of pampering, food, games and fellowship. It’s the perfect opportunity to make new friends and explore spiritual growth opportunities. For more information, contact Laura Ankrom at 724-941-8990.

2. 2012 Lenten Fish Fry Lunch and Dinner
Where/When: St. Benedict the Abbot Catholic Church, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Why Go?: The 2012 Family Lenten Fish Fry will run every Friday starting Feb. 24 to March 30. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and dinner is from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Both times offer eat-in or takeout. 3. Goal Setting for Success
Where?/When?: Peters Township Public Library, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: What is your definition of success? Are you realizing your dreams? The ability to convey and use leadership can make all the difference in your personal success. Participants to the previous "Achieving Peak Performance" workshop in January requested a follow-up workshop by presenter Tom Crea. Goal Setting for Success is open to adults as well as students seeking to maximize their potential throughout life. All are welcome and encouraged to attend, whether you attended the previous seminar or not. Parents of children at Peters Township Middle Schoolare encouraged to attend with their child to get the most out of the information provided. 4. US Citizenship Test Prep Program
Where/When: Peters Township Public Library, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: The 2010 census shows an increase of immigrants residing in the Washington County area. Many may wish to become U.S. citizens and need help preparing to take the U.S. Citizenship Test. The Peters Township Public Library will offer a session to help prepare for the test. Register by emailing programs@ptlibrary.org, at the library's circulation desk or call 724-941-9430.

5. 8th Annual Bingo Night
Where/When: St. Benedict the Abbot Catholic Church, 6 to 11 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: The Peters Township Lacrosse Club is holding its 8th Annual Bingo Night. This is its only fundraising activity for the year and it will be held in O’Brien Hall. Admission includes food catered by Merante Brothers and plenty of beverages and snacks throughout the evening. Guests must be 21 years of age or older. Basket raffles and 50/50 will be held all evening. The bingo grand prize will be at least $750! Tickets are available at the door, but it is recommended to pre-purchase tickets as this event has been known to sell out! Call 412-370-1749 for tickets.
Pricing: $12 for admission (a 12-pack of bingo cards is $30)
