Get Out: Royal Wedding, Clean-Up Day and Taste of the Township

This weekend is bustling with events. Take your pick from our top 10!

1.
Where/When: Homewood Suites Conference Room, Thursday, 6 p.m.
Why Go: Watch the “The Wedding of the Century” at this overnight pamper party. Enjoy pre-wedding pampering through Friday morning festivities. There will be free manicures, facials, wine tasting, chair massages, hula hooping and so much more! And, of course lots of ROYAL Jafra specials! The wedding is early, so those of you needing to go to work will not be late! RSVP earns you a free $10 gift certificate. Bring a friend and you will earn a extra raffle ticket for great prizes. The more friends, the more you earn!
Pricing: $129+ per room; price includes a light dinner, snacks and full breakfast.

Why go?: This fantasy book club, for grades 4 through 8, is an excellent way for your child to meet with kids with the same interests. Once a month this book club meets for games, snacks, crafts, movies and more!

Where/When: , Friday, 7 - 11:30 p.m.
Why Go: The 10th Annual Taste of the Township is an evening of fabulous food, dancing and unique auction items. Bring the whole family to join in on this annual event! Proceeds benefit the Peters Township Public Library.

Why Go?: Alicia Romano, a Pittsburgh native, will perform songs from her debut album “Happiness Is...” For more information check out her page!

Where/When: Public Works Garage, Saturday, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Why Go?: The Peters Township Environmental Quality Board is asking for volunteers to clean litter along the roadways in the township. Groups or individuals are to come to between 8:30-9 a.m. for an assignment, instructions, gloves and bags. The clean-up happens rain or shine. Where/When: Washington Community Federal Credit Union, Saturday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Why Go?: The Washington Community Federal Credit Union is holding this free community event! Enjoy free food, games for the kids, the "Bounce House" and cash giveaways! There will be representatives from the North Strabane Fire an Police Departments, along with Andy the Ambulance! Please bring a non-perishable food item to help the Boy Scouts of America's Scouting for food program.

Why Go: Kitchen Science is for ages 2 - 5 years with an adult. Participants will enjoy this easy and fun science program. Register in the Children's Department.

Why Go?: Peters Township is participating in the Drug Take-Back Program. Residents can turn in any unused, unwanted or unneeded medication. There are various collection sites in the township. A list can be found here.

Where/When: Pottery Barn at the Galleria , Saturday, 10 a.m.
Why Go?: The National Geographic Little Explorers Club is coming to Pottery Barn at the Galleria in Mount Lebanon. This week, the topic is sharks! Children, ages 3 and up, will learn all about ocean creatures through hands-on activities, quizzes, songs and more!

Why Go?: LEGOs at the Library is for kids and parents of all ages! Build new creations, play LEGO games on the Wii or watch clips from an awesome LEGO movie. Register in the Children's Department.
