Local Veterans to Be Honored at Dedication Ceremony in Peters Township

Cremation & Funeral Care in Peters Township will honor and remember area veterans Wednesday when it dedicates its flag poles.

The dedication ceremony will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Washington Road business, and will feature special guest speakers—including four-star General John Abizaid.

He retired from the U.S. Army after 34 years, during which he rose from infantry platoon leader to four-star general and became the longest-serving commander of the United States Central Command—overseeing American military operations in a 27-country region with more than 250,000 troops.
