Meteorologists are watching a storm system that could bring damaging winds, large hail and more than 2 inches of rain to the Peters Township area on Wednesday.
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch from 10 p.m. Wednesday to 6 p.m. Thursday. Flooding is most likely near small streams and creeks.
The National Weather Service reported to the Post-Gazette that it is too soon to predict how the storm is going to affect the Pittsburgh area, but there's a chance for 60 to 70 mph wind gusts and possible flooding problems.
The thunderstorms and showers are likely for Peters after 3 p.m.
A Duquesne Light spokesperson told the Tribune Review that customers should have water, flashlights, batteries and candles on hand, plus a first-aid kit and a supply of prescription medicine.
