"A Total Music Experience" - Band Lab Summer Workshop, July 9 - July 13 & July 30 - Aug 3, 9am - noon. Ages 9 - 18

Are you sick of playing or singing the same old songs at home all by yourself? How about teaming up with some friends and other musicians of the same caliber and forming a band? Our team of teachers will coach you and your friends through how to practice, pick songs, improvisation on your instrument, arrange music so that it becomes truly yours, how to write your own songs, perform and record! This is a great opportunity to get out there are meet other musicians with the same interests as you!

This weeklong workshop includes guest performances from area musicians who collaborate with each other, performances by our own team of teachers here at David’s Music House, on stage practice opportunities, a studio recording of your band and a night of performance where YOU are the headliner on our coffee house stage!

Vocal & Theater Performance Workshops - "Sizzlin' Summer Cabaret Camp", July 16 - July 20, 10am - 1pm. Grades 9 - 12.

Students will receive instruction in private voice, ensemble singing, acting, stage presence, and dancing.  Students will work on solo pieces and group pieces during the camp, and will put together a cabaret performance for friends and family.

- Instruction from amazing instructors who have gone through the theater world experiences to give you hands on knowledge of how to enter the world of theater performance.

"A Total Music Experience" - Songwriting Summer Workshop, Aug 13 - Aug 17, 9am - noon. All ages.

Ever wonder how Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Kelly Clarkson, or any other artist constructs meaningful and successful songs? Learn the tools you need to express yourself through the magic of songwriting. We will deconstruct songs from different artists such as U2, Dylan, The Beatles, Taylor Swift, Duke Ellington, Jerome Kern, Adele, and many more to see the way they are constructed. We will explore different ways of finding your own style, and staying true to it. We will practice the art of the songwriting circle where you help each other out through constructive criticism and feedback. We will also have guest speakers on the business of songwriting and how to copyright, market, and spread your craft around the world utilizing iTunes, Pandora, and other media outlets.

Vocal & Theater Performance Workshops - "Broadway Summer Camp", June 25 - June 29 & Aug 6 - Aug 10, 10am - 1pm, Grades 4 - 8. 

Students will receive instruction in private voice, ensemble singing, acting, stage presence, and dancing.  During the camp, students will work to put together a cabaret performance for friends and family to be shown on the last day of camp! Each camp will be different so sing up for both weeks of FUN!

"A Total Music Experience" - Guitar Summer Workshop June 18 - June 22, & July 23 - July 27, 9am-noon, Ages 9 - 18
The guitar workshop will focus on differing genres that the guitar has been able to accommodate within its long life (almost 4,000 years!). Students will learn a short history on their instrument, and be able to truly appreciate its humble beginnings as a tortoise shell and a few gut strings! Practice methods and the process of learning and being able to physically carryout advanced guitar techniques will be taught. Students will be taught exercises to better their dexterity and strumming or picking ability, techniques that are common to certain genres of music, and will also be given free time to practice or ask a teacher about a particular song or project that they are interested in. Each student will choose a goal to work on for the week and will be required to try their best to accomplish it within the week.
Guitar week will culminate with a performance on Friday or Saturday night. Students may choose to perform, or just attend the performance. Recordings of their performances will be available after the class has ended as well.

"A Total Music Experience" - Master Classes/Workshops – David’s Music House is dropping some major talented names who will be instructing these AMAZING Master Classes. The likes of such gifted artists, performers and singer/songwriters as Vanessa Campagnia and Benney Benack III.

"A Total Music Experience" - Preparing for your College Auditions – We will talk about the difference between a conservatory and a music program within a university, what students can expect as a “music” major…Different career options (performance, education, technology, music therapy, etc.)

"A Total Music Experience" - Marketing Yourself in the Social Media Era – How to be your own “manager”. Many artists in today’s world are electing to represent themselves, and even if an artist isn’t going to be their own manager, they should still have an idea of how to get themselves out there, and use social media to their advantage.  There will be examples from artist websites, facebook artist pages, soundcloud, bandcamp, reverbnation, etc.
