Movie Director Visits Peters Township High School

While Stephen Chbosky is a graduate of Upper St. Clair High School, he said that Peters Township embodied the warm atmosphere that he envisioned for the film.

Author, screenwriter and director Stephen Chbosky from The Perks of Being a Wallflower visited Peters Township High School Friday as the movie opened nationwide.

He spoke with media students and held a question-and-answer session with a group of juniors and seniors in a brief assembly.

Chbosky talked at length about his love of the city of Pittsburgh that brought him home for the movie premier. While he is a graduate of Upper St. Clair High School, he said that Peters  embodied the warm atmosphere that he envisioned for the film. Scenes of the movie were filmed at Peters Township High School last year.
