Mylan Classic Announces 2013 Concert Series

Officials from the Mylan Classic and the Washington County Tourism Promotion Agency announced this week that Ronnie Dunn of Brooks & Dunn, Pure Gold and Bon Journey will be featured in the tournament’s 2013 concert series.

The series will highlight the Mylan Classic’s seven-day schedule of events which begin on Monday, July 29. 

As a community event, the Mylan Classic offers both championship golf and entertainment for the whole family. Weekly tournament tickets for the Mylan Classic are priced at $25 and include admission for the tournament itself as well as the concert series, clinics, evening entertainment and special events during tournament week.

Tickets are being sold through a unique and innovative initiative known as the ANSYS TICKETS Fore CHARITY™ program.

Through this program more than 200 participating non-profit organizations are selling tournament tickets and retaining 100 percent of the proceeds as well as a percentage of the bonus pool.

Pittsburgh doo-wop legends Pure Gold will take the stage at Southpointe Golf Club  on Thursday, Aug. 1 at the completion of play and kick off the concert lineup for the 2013 Mylan Classic. ­­With signature acapella vocals and four-part harmonies, Pure Gold delivers diverse sounds and musical styles with a stage presence that transcends audience ages and backgrounds.

On Friday, Aug 2 at the completion of play Bon Journey will perform at Southpointe Golf Club. Bon Journey is America's favorite original Bon Jovi and Journey tribute band. This 6-piece band pays homage to Bon Jovi and Journey like no other ensemble can. Each band mate brings their own stellar music backgrounds to the stage, performing all-time favorite rock hits with dead-on vocals and sound. Bon Journey features Rick Kendall (guitar), Tony DiCesaro (vocals), Jeff Morris (keyboards and delivering lead vocals), Mike Vargo (rhythm section), Jerry Onesi (bass) and Shane Kendall (drums).

The concert series heads to The Meadows Racetrack & Casino on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 7:30 p.m. as Ronnie Dunn closes out the Mylan Classic’s week of entertainment. In 1990, Ronnie Dunn and friend Kix Brooks formed Brooks & Dunn. The duo burst onto the country music scene with their first album "Brand New Man," a smash hit album that went certified platinum six times.
