Peters Township Public Library, Lensshooters to Offer Photo Contest

All winners will receive a 2013-14 membership to the Western Pennsylvania Lensshooters.

The Peters Township Public Library and the Western Pennsylvania Lensshooters are hosting an amateur photography contest this month.

The contest is open to all amateur photographers to participate in three different categories—photographs of people, landscapes, or animals.

The first-place prize in each category will be $25; the second-place prize will be $10, and third-place prize will be a certificate.

All winners will receive a 2013-14 membership to the Western Pennsylvania Lensshooters Camera Club, which meets monthly at the library.

But remember: The Deadline for entries is Thursday, April 25.

There is a $3 fee per entry, and a maximum of three entries per person.

Photographic prints must be no smaller than 5 inches by 7 inches and no larger than 8.5 inches by 11 inches. Prints should not be framed or mounted. Entries should be dropped off at the library’s circulation desk. Each entry must have a completed entry form (available at the circulation desk) along with the $3 fee. Cash or checks will be accepted. Checks may be made out to: Friends of the Peters Township Public Library.

Winning photographs will be on display at the library from May 1 through May 15. Entrants can pick up their photographs between May 16- 25.
