Touching Exhibit on Display at Outpatient Center

'Lilly Oncology on Canvas' is free to the public through Friday in Peters Township.

"Lilly Oncology on Canvas," an exhibition of art by people diagnosed with cancer, their families, friends and caregivers, is on display at the West Penn Allegheny Health System in through Friday.

This free public exhibit, on tour in communities nationwide, showcases select pieces of art from the 2011 "Lilly Oncology on Canvas" competition. The artwork expresses—visually and through narrative—the life-affirming changes that give meaning to the cancer journey. Themes explored in this inspiring collection range from fear to hope, to loss and survival, to isolation and the embrace of family and friends.

The exhibit is presented by "Lilly Oncology" in partnership with the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship. Since its inception in 2004, "Oncology on Canvas" has received more than 3,600 entries from the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
