Flash Flood Watch Issued For Washington County

Last week, residents of Washington County were put on alert because of poor air quality.

Last night, the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning.

Today, the NWS in Moon has issued a flash flood watch for several counties—including Washington.

The watch expires Thursday morning.

Here's what the NWS is reporting on its website:

"Many areas in the flood watch received heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours. Another round of thunderstorms with heavy rains in predicted to move through the region tonight. The soil is saturated in most areas and it will not take much more rainfall in a short period of time to cause flooding."
