"Customers look to us to find something different," Lucot said. "Unique items you don't see anywhere else."

There are so many items available for purchase that Lucot said they grew out of their Donati Road store. And she hopes the new Route 19 location will increase the store's visibility.

The Upper St. Clair mother has lived in the township for more than 20 years. She used to be an ICU nurse and also sold clothes from her home for 12 years.

"Once you have retail in your blood, you can't get away from it," she said.

Lucot said her small business hasn't been affected by the down economy, which she contributes to the store's unique selection and great sales associates that cater to the needs of the customers.

Indicated in the store's name, there are a number of planned trunk shows.

On April 20-29, there will be a Carlisle trunk show and on May 11, it will be all about shoes, according to Lucot.

"(Trunk shows) provide new and interesting merchandise that you normally wouldn't see or a more extensive part of a line," Lucot said.

More information about the upcoming trunk shows and the store can be found on its website and its Facebook page.

Pittsburgh Magazine named Trunk Shows Boutique number one in its 2011 Best of the 'Burgh issue.
