Merante Brothers Market Opens Today

The Peters Township owners invite you to stop by the North Strabane business for a cappuccino, a panini or just to chat.

in North Strabane is celebrating its grand opening today.

The Peters Township husband and wife team—Anthony and Domenica—are "bringing the neighborhood store back to the neighborhood, but with a modern flair." 

The new market features a coffee shop, grocery and a cucina—you can dine-in or take advantage of its take-out window. A drive-thru window is also available at the coffee shop.

The pair invite you to stop in and check out the store full of meat, cheeses, breads and produce. 

"Have a cappuccino, get some lunch!" Domenica said.

In a recent blog post, they said they like to think of today as the start of Pittsburgh's Italian Renaissance.

"Just like the original Italian Renaissance, ours has mosaics and frescos—the ones in our indoor piazza, where customers gather to enjoy each other’s company along with our delicacies," they wrote.

The new business is open until 8 p.m. tonight. The cafe reopens at 6 a.m. Saturday—the market at 8 a.m. and the cucina at 11 a.m.
