New Peters Township Building Named in Honor of Donors

The two-story, 40,000-square-foot outpatient center opened in June.

The brand new, $20-million building that houses the St. Clair Hospital Outpatient Center along Route 19 in Peters Township has been named The Michael & Dolores Kara Building.

The Karas, who live in the Southpointe area, made one of the largest philanthropic gifts to St. Clair Hospital in support of the new Outpatient Center.

"After dedication, hard work, sacrifice, early investing and many blessings, we are pleased to share our success with St. Clair Hospital," Michael Kara said in a news release. "Our experience with St. Clair has exceeded our expectations and has resulted in annual gift-giving since 1999."

Said Andrea Kalina, St. Clair's vice president of external affairs and its chief human resources officer, "The Karas have been a great partner of St. Clair for more than a decade. Naming this important new building after the Karas is tangible recognition of their longstanding commitment to the hospital and its mission to provide highly valued, service-oriented health care to the community now and for many years to come."

The two-story, 40,000-square-foot Peters Township Outpatient Center opened on June 3 and, like its sister center in Bethel Park, is designed to allow patients, if necessary, to see multiple physicians and access the diagnostic services that they need in one day and under one roof.
