Owner Shaina Dymond is a self-proclaimed animal lover. She has dogs, rides horses and is excited to be a new business owner in Peters Township.
The Pooch Pitt, tentatively opening on Feb. 11, offers daycare, boarding, grooming, training and specialty products for pups—including dog food, treats, leashes, collars and sweaters.
“What really sets us apart is that we offer all-in-one services,” Dymond said.
Located in St. Petersburg Center, the 5,200 square-foot doggy haven has indoor and outdoor plays areas—both spacious and comforting—and a spa.
Eight hi-definition web cameras allow you to see your furry friend(s) at all times.
The Pooch Pitt staff is comprised of five employees, certified in grooming and training. And all are animal lovers, Dymond said.
A staff member will be working around the clock for the boarded dogs that may need walked at 3 a.m.
“We’ve had a great team come together,” she said. She agreed The Pooch Pitt is a one-stop shop for dog owners alike.
Hailing from Maryland, Dymond earned her MBA from The George Washington University and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland.
She has worked in financial management for seven years and recently relocated from D.C. with her fiancé to the Pittsburgh area.
“This is my first attempt at this business—I want The Pooch Pitt to be one of many,” she said.
