Prom Corsages for Peters Prom

Prom flowers are so much more than your parents remember.

Prom will be held on Friday, May 18. There is so much for the couple (or parents) to do and so little time.

Dresses, tuxedos, hair and nail appointments are just the start. It is customary to give your date a corsage or boutonniere when attending the prom. Ladies wear a corsage; gentlemen wear a boutonniere.

This tradition comes from a time period, long ago, when flowers were worn to make one smell heavenly while dancing with a partner. Today, it has become about much more.

Ideally, it is nice to match the flowers to the prom attire so the colors do not clash. Having a swatch of material, when ordering the flowers, is always helpful but not necessary. If you have an idea of the color, it's best to try and compliment the dress rather than match. Very rarely do flowers match the dress perfectly. Because flowers do not grow in all of today's color choices, you can always pick up the color in your choice of ribbon or by adding jewels.

Let us not forget the BLING!

Today's corsages are much different than corsages your parents may remember. Keepsake bracelets are a great way to present a corsage. The bracelets come in many styles decorated with rhinestones, crystals, pearls and colored beads.

Jewels can also be added to the corsage as well as the boutonniere. They add just the right amount of sparkle to the flowers. Picking out a corsage with all of these options can be confusing. That is why it's important to go in person and order, rather than ordering over the telephone.

Remember—the prom is a great rite of passage and you will want to enjoy every step of the process as well as the night itself. If you need help in selecting the perfect flowers, call us at (724-941-6610) and we can make this part of your planning easy.
