Comedic Spotlight on Candidates to Benefit Children

Tickets are available for the popular Candidates' Comedy Night fundraiser.

Tickets are on sale now for the Candidates’ Comedy Night 2011 fundraiser on Aug. 18 at the Pittsburgh Improv at the Waterfront in Homestead.

The fundraiser, which benefits children and youth in Allegheny County, is a forum for candidates running for political office in the November general election to reveal their hidden talents and showcase their humor. Those performing include candidates for Allegheny County executive, controller and treasurer; judge of the Superior and Commonwealth Court; and Court of Common Pleas.

Tickets for sections of eight seats are available at the following levels: gold section, $750 donation; and silver section, $500 donation. The platinum section is sold out. Tickets may be ordered by calling the Department of Human Services event line at 412-350-3428.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the comedy show will begin at 7:30 p.m.

All proceeds will benefit children and youth served by the department and the Juvenile Section of the Family Division of the Court of Common Pleas by providing life-enriching opportunities not otherwise available through traditional government funding.
