Giant Eagle Announces Lettuce, Sandwich Ring Recall

The items may have been contaminated by listeria, which causes food poisoning.

Giant Eagle, including the and  locations, has issued a recall of bags of shredded iceberg lettuce, as well as certain sandwich rings, because they may have been contaminated by listeria, which causes food poisoning.

Any customers with bags of "F.M. shredded lettuce" with the UPC code "3003430195" should return those bags to Giant Eagle for a full refund.

Because contaminated lettuce may have been used in Giant Eagle's Italian, New York and All-American sandwich rings, customers should return those sandwich rings, as well, for a full refund.

The UPC codes of the sandwich rings are "23755100000," "24755500000," "22755100000," "25755500000," "21755100000" and "26755500000."
