High Wind Warning, Flood Watch Issued Monday & Tuesday in Peters

With talks of a 'Frankenstorm' affecting the area early this week, here's the latest on what weather we can expect.

Hurricane Sandy is forecast to bring heavy rains, strong winds and a significant storm surge to the Mid-Atlantic States and southern New England on Monday and Tuesday—and the Pittsburgh region will be affected by this storm.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch and high wind warning for the region—including Peters Township—Monday and Tuesday.

Under the flood watch—in effect 6 a.m. Monday to 7 p.m. Tuesday—prolonged and heavy rain associated with a cold front and a post Tropical Storm Sandy might cause some flooding. According to the NWS, areas that get more than two inches of rain on Monday and Tuesday might flood where drainage is poor. Larger rivers also might be impacted.
