Miracle Field Opening Day Revealed

Casey's Clubhouse and the Washington Wild Things have also teamed up for the next fundraiser—planned for Saturday, Feb. 18.

The  will open on Saturday, May 26.

 is uniquely designed to give children of all abilities the opportunity to play baseball. The field is equipped with various amenities including a completely rubberized and flat surface, power outlets in the dugouts and bathrooms available on site.

The league is now accepting registration for players with special needs—both youth and adult leagues. Games will be held on Saturdays (May 26 through June 30) and will return for a fall season. Click here to join a team.

One of the most important parts of the Miracle League program is the buddy system. Players are paired with other children (12 years or older) or adults in the community for help running the bases and fielding the balls. The league is accepting registration for these critical buddy roles and other volunteers, including those who may want to coach, announce or umpire. Click here to volunteer.

, the organization that has raised nearly $1 million for the construction of the field, is working to raise more money to finalize construction costs and earn enough money to maintain the field.

They've teamed up with the Washington Wild Things for the next fundraiser—the 2012 Washington Wild Things Hot Stove. The dinner will be hosted by former Pittsburgh Steeler Dermontti Dawson and feature special guests Sean CaseyBob WalkLanny Frattare and Chris Bando.
