Possible Salmonella Causes Giant Eagle Cucumber Recall

All cucumbers sold between May 14-26 have been recalled at the McMurray grocery.

In the midst of Memorial Day weekend cookouts and picnics, cucumbers have been recalled and pulled from the shelves at the in Donaldson's Crossroads, among other locations.

C.W. Hendrix Farms Inc. of Boca Raton, Fla. has recalled cucumbers distributed from its facility from May 6-13 because of possible salmonella contamination.

A produce employee at the McMurray location says to check your receipts. If you've purchased cucumbers between May 14-26, the safety of the produce is not guaranteed and should be disposed of or returned to the store for a refund.

At this time, the produce in the Donaldson's Crossroads Giant Eagle has been distributed from an alternative manufacturer and is safe to eat. 

Giant Eagle began calling customers Friday night to inform them of the recall.
