At what age should women lose their virginity? An online dating study conducted by SeekingArrangement.com, in which 1,241 Pittsburgh females were surveyed, revealed that 20 years old is the most ideal age for a woman to lose her virginity.
Actually, one in 10 Pittsburgh females on the website are still virgins.
The website, which caters to more than 2 million members, conducted a national survey of 77,027 females in 24 major U.S. cities in order to determine the relationship between online dating and sexual activity. The results? The immediacy of online dating generally increases casual dating, but it also
increases selectivity among those who are still virgins.
Approximately 74 percent of all women claimed that online dating has increased their selectivity for finding “the one,” with only 18 percent attributing marriage as the cause for waiting:
Reasons for Retaining Virginity (77,027 Females Surveyed)
1.) Connectivity (Online Dating, Social Networking, etc.) – 74 percent
2.) Waiting until Marriage – 18 percent
3.) Personal Beliefs (Religion) – 6 percent
4.) Upbringing (Culture) – 1 percent
5.) Other - less than 1 percent
“The modern woman is much less idealistic—many realize that marriage doesn’t always end in bliss, so they date often and carefully,” said Brandon Wade, chief executive officer and founder of SeekingArrangement.com. “Our study, which is the largest of its kind, proves that virgins do exist, and many now use online dating as a resource to find that special someone.”
According to Wade, SeekingArrangement.com consists of ideal men for women to date and aspire to marry—men who are intelligent, successful, and wealthy. Wade asserts that these type of men are openly generous and willing to take care of their partners or wives.
“Many women regret losing their virginity to a loser,” says Wade. “Virginity is something special that should be cherished for someone special, and online dating offers another avenue to find that perfect person.”
The myth of cohabitation remains alive, and is gaining popularity. "Try it first," has been shown to be a failure itself. National divorce rates are about 50%, but is about 85% of those who choose cohabitation before marriage.

One line stood out, "Fifty-eight percent of first births among working and lower middle classes in the U.S. are now to unmarried women." In some classes the rate is 85%. These statistics go a long way to understanding dysfunctional families. Dysfunctional families is the poster statement for many of our problems. Without a man/woman, two-parent household, the outcome for children problematic. Without a male leader, without the nurture of a female, the children are starting life at a disadvantage. Some of the outcomes of single-parent family: financial distress, lower educational levels, illicit drug use, crime, and creation of further dysfunctional families. Far too many men consider themselves sperm donors, and refuse the responsibility of home leadership of a family. Oh sure, we can point to successful single-parent households. But, the general perspective of negative outcomes cannot escape attention. The Patch piece demonstrates a significant problem that few wishes to address. Please do not try to justify the promiscuity because "this is 2013." Absolute moral principles have no time barrier.
