"OutSHINE the Limelight" Summer Session, by Accelerando Performing Arts Conservatory

With regards to this year's Summer Session, our mission is moving progressively toward SELF-AWARENESS and the importance of acknowledging our INNER LIGHT - that is, embracing our own unique talents through performance and visual art.  We encourage our students to LIVE AUTHENTICALLY and as the GREATEST EXPRESSION OF THEMSELVES.   It is no secret that today's youth have interesting and unique challenges specific to their generation. There is an imbalanced struggle between self-entitlement and a lack of self-worth.  Our goal for this summer session and the remaining sessions this year, is to build a strong foundation that provides our artists a strong sense of self-awareness and self-esteem, adopting that vulnerability doesn't equal a loss of credibility and that authentically living and embracing their unique talents is what will forever outshine the, oftentimes, superficial industry expectations.  With this background, students will have a solid rapport with a network of like-minded artists that re-frame negative talk into supportive and empowering conversation with self and others.  Where we can learn to appreciate our own individual talents and use them humbly for our own greatest good - and those we share it with! This summer, the staff at Accelerando and our special guests (well-known singers and songwriters from the industry) embrace the Truth - that we "OUTSHINE the Limelight"!
