Drug Take Back Initiative

On April 28, 2012 Peters Township Police Department will once again take part in the Drug Take Back Initiative sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice.

The purpose of this initiative is to remove as much outdated, unused/un-needed prescription medications from communities as possible. By providing an environmentally safe way to dispose of these medications, the Police are also assisting in removing these medications from the home and reducing the abuse of prescription medications, which is one of the fastest growing areas of drug abuse in the United States.

To make this program as convenient as possible for residents, items (pills and liquids) may be dropped in the drop box located in the lobby of the Peters Township Police Department on weekdays from 8AM and 4PM, Monday through Friday. This is absolutely an anonymous program.

On April 28, a uniformed police officer will be stationed at the following Peters Township locations to accept drop-offs from 10 AM until 2 PM.: McMurray Dairy Bar, KMart, and Walgreens.
