Wanted: Your Old Baseball Gloves, Mitts and Other Gear

If your kids have old batting helmets, mitts or gloves they've either outgrown or don't use, there is a local way to turn your unwanted items into a good deed for kids interested in youth baseball.

A collection is being held locally here in Peters Township to benefit youngsters in under-served communities across the globe through the nonprofit Pitch In For Baseball.

Organizers have put out a call for help—and the following items are in demand:

  • Fielding gloves
  • Bats (any type)
  • Catcher's mittsProtective gear
  • Batting helmets
  • Baseballs and softballs
  • Soft-cover balls for T-ball
  • Rubber baseball cleats
  • Youth uniform pants (sets of 12 or more, if not white/gray)
  • Youth uniform shirts and hats (sets of 12 or more)
  • Umpire protective gear
  • Team equipment bags
  • Sets of basesBatting T-shirts
  • Pitching machines
There are three collection sites in our area:
  • Peterswood Park baseball fields (there is a marked container near pavilion)
  • Peterswood Park softball complex (on observation deck)
  • Reese Park baseball field
