Peters Township to Play Mt. Lebanon Wednesday Night

The postseason match-up begins at 7:10 p.m. at Mt. Lebanon Ice Center—here's what Peters needs to do to win.

Peters Township will travel to Mt. Lebanon tonight for the postseason.

The Indians and the Blue Devils played each other twice this season. The first game ended in a 1-1 tie, while the second match-up finished with a 3-2 victory for Mt. Lebo.

In both match-ups, the Blue Devils seemed to have an edge over Peters; however, tonight may be different. The Indians have seen the opposition enough times to realize how Lebo plays. If the PT defense can make sure to keep the puck away from Trevor Nelson and Thomas Horn (Mt. Lebanon’s two point leaders), they will have a distinct advantage. One of the Indians’ keys to victory over Shaler was shutting down their best offensive player. If they can take the same strategy against the Blue Devils, they will have a good chance at advancing to the next round.

In addition, Clay Wyda—the Mt. Lebanon goaltender—has done a very good job against PT in both match-ups. His goals allowed average per game (GAA) is 1.98. Peters needs to keep the puck in the offensive zone and constantly fire the puck to the net. Players like Cole Snyder, Patrick Hannan, Trevor Recktenwald and Davan Groom need to pass the puck smoothly all game long and find scoring chances.

The match-up between Mt. Lebanon (fourth seed) and Peters Township (fifth seed) begins at 7:10 p.m. at the Mt. Lebanon Ice Center.
