Irene "Yia Yia" Kalafatis, 97, of McMurray, died Thursday, June 28, 2012.
She was born Dec. 31, 1914. She's the beloved wife of the late Andrew Kalafatis and the loving mother of Jean (Nick) Manganas, Nick (Dinah) Kalafatis and Robert (Rita) Kalafatis.
She is survived by 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She's the sister of Louis (Sophie) Lignos and the late James Lignos, William Lignos, Johanna Constantin and Georgia Bishop.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at , 2828 Washington Rd., McMurray. A Trisagion service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

A funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, 123 Gilkeson Rd., Pittsburgh. Interment will follow in , .
