Happy Thanksgiving, Peters Patch!

I hope today you are happy and thankful.

I said to my uncle the other day, “You know what really makes me mad?”

His response? “Everything?”

And so, I realized that today of all days, I should stop thinking about all the stuff that makes me red, and concentrate on what we all should be: The people, places and things that make us happy—that make us thankful.

G.K. Chesterton said, "I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought; and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder."

What makes me thankful? I have a family who loves me. I have friends who care about me. I have a job I love—and one that I think actually makes a difference in the lives of others. I’m thankful for my cat Linc, who has become the unofficial spokescat of my Patch activities (and delights in lying on my notebooks and planner).

Specifically, I guess I am thankful for the love and energy my niece (Lilly Belle, 3, and Nicholas, 9) bring to my life.

I’ve uploaded some pictures of the people and things I am thankful for.

I invite you, dear Patch friends, to do the same.

Either leave me a comment or upload a picture of the people and things you are thankful for this holiday.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I will leave you with this advice from William Wordsworth:

"Rest and be thankful."

And of course: Happy Thanksgiving Peters Patch!!
