Peters Starbucks Locations to Debut New Blonde Roast

Is coffee a major part of your morning routine, or perhaps your lifestyle?

As a regular "coffice" goer and java drinker, I tend to lean toward more mild roasts—for the taste. Now essentially immune to caffeine, I sip a cuppa joe all day, but I'm quite particular. 

If I'm working from a , I never seem to order a plain cup of coffee. Typically, it's a non-fat latte of some sort or Tazo Tea. A bitter Venti Pike Place Roast isn't my go-to.

Recently, the Starbucks gods heard my cries, and maybe yours?

Starbucks Blonde Roast debuted in locations across the country Tuesday. The company said it created the roast to meet the needs of the 54 million coffee drinkers in the U.S. who say they prefer a lighter roast coffee.

It's subtle, mellow and lighter-bodied, according to the company’s website.

It promises full flavor and deliciousness, too.

The Blonde Roast coffees include blends such as Veranda, Willow and Decaf Willow—all available in stores, online, in supermarkets, in K-Cup Packs (for the Keurig) and as Via Ready Brew.

A special tasting event takes place Thursday through Saturday at all Starbucks locations, including both in Peters Township— and .

Customers can try samples as part of a taste test, and a $1 off coupon for whole bean coffee will be distributed.
