Pathetic Congress Runs the Nation into the Ground - Plenty of Blame to go Around

Those we Elect to Lead Decline to do Their Jobs, the Nation and the World Suffer as a Result

In response to the plan put forth by Republican members of Congress to raise the debt ceiling for a period of three months while the members attempt to pass a budget and enact debt reduction measures, I would use the words “outrageous” and “shameful” to describe the members of both major political parties!

Translated into plan English, the proposal means, “As has been the case for years, we, the exalted members of Congress, Republican and Democrat, decline to do our jobs. We are unable to agree on how to budget or spend, thus we exclusively engage in “stopgap government,” enacting one short term plan after another to provide services and benefits that the American people have come to expect, all the while serving to accelerate our mammoth and unsustainable spending spree.  The gyrations that we create in the markets and in the hearts of American citizens as we dither and fiddle are of little concern to us. Posturing for position and partisan advantage, and aspiring to serve in Congress for life, are our priorities.”

I give the American people credit for bestowing an abysmal approval rating of 9% on Congress in the latest polling data. I give the American people a figurative conk on the head for continuing to elect what is a body significantly composed of tragically comedic figures that have rendered the nation ungovernable!

What we need is a real small government party. Oh wait, we have one and they put up a highly qualified candidate last time.
